Jane Fonda, Who Recently Turned 80, Didn’t Think She Would Make It To Her 30th Birthday

bez-imeni-1

While growing up, people make plans for their future and work towards their ambition, but it seems Jane Fonda didn’t make long-term plans while growing up as she thought she wouldn’t live that long.

Why Jane Fonda thought she wouldn’t live above 30
The actress and multiple award winner recently clocked 80, and she opens up about her experience while growing up. She says she never thought she’d make it to age 30.
I never pictured 30, I assumed I wouldn’t live very long and that I would die lonely and an addict of some sort. I didn’t think if I did live this long, that I would be vibrant and healthy and still working. I’m grateful.

Having a difficult life while growing up with her mother committing suicide when Jane was 12 years, it’s remarkable how her life has turned out different from what her younger self thought. Now at 80, she’s not just alive but also healthy and in love.

A fundraiser to celebrate her 80th birthday
One way Fonda gives back to society is through her foundation GCAPP which focuses on preventing teenage pregnancy and supporting healthy adolescent relationships. Days before her birthday, Fonda organized an auction to raise funds for her foundation.

And perhaps the best birthday gift for Fonda was the 1.3 million dollars raised for her foundation. At 80, she’s full of life and ready to embrace what life has to offer.

I’m thankful that I’ve gotten better over the 80 years, … I’m less judgmental. I’m forgiving. It wasn’t always true. I’ve really worked hard to get better as a human being.

Role model to many
To many who have suffered a similar fate, Jane is a source of inspiration and hope that they can make it too. If she could pull through her limitations and fears and become a better person, so can we all.
