The actor shared on Facebook that he’d lost one of his dearest friends. In a tribute to Paula Haynes, Stamos shared what she had meant to him, saying that she’d had ‘the moral compass’ of his mother.

Stamos had met Haynes in 1986 and the two formed a bond that was finally severed on 17 November 2017.

John Stamos, 54, took to social media on Friday, Nov. 17 to reveal that his beloved friend and fan, Paula Haynes, had passed on. The two had such a tight bond that they called each other ‘girlfriend’ and ‘boyfriend.’

He sometimes called her, Miss Paula Haynes according to his post. In his tribute he shared that she was dealt a tough hand at birth, but in life, she made the very most of that hand and lived more than most of us.

Stamos revealed that they had met over 30 years ago in June 1986. He said he’d met her through The Beach Boys.

Haynes would come to shows, fly to LA to see tapings of Full House, and he’d visit her in Memphis. Stamos shared that she’d even go to NYC to watch him on Broadway.

‘I told an associate of mine that one of my dearest, most important, and most inspiring friends had passed away yesterday.’

The actor revealed how his friends had had the moral compass of his mother, Mother Theresa, and Mother Mary all rolled up in one. ‘She had a knack for knowing exactly when I needed her most, to impart her spirituality on me and keep me on the right path,’ Stamos stated.

The two would see each other as much as they could. He even bought her a motorized wheelchair so she could get around easier.

When they couldn’t meet face to face, they’d talk on the phone for hours and eventually, they would text. Haynes was a very religious and very spiritual person.

Her prayers were what got Stamos through many moments in his life and she was a giant in his eyes. The fan was someone Stamos could count on, who never let her disabilities slow her down, get her down or get in the way of her living life the way she wanted to live it.

The actor shared that he felt Haynes was a shoe-in to heaven and would skip the line and have the best seat in the house. He went on to say that she was one of the shiniest examples of how a human should live their life and not take anything for granted.

‘She was one of my favorite people ever. She was one of the last ‘constants’ in my life. You always think ‘constants’ are going to be there forever, simply by the nature of what they are,’ Stamos wrote.

He added that if you were as lucky as he was to have a friend like Haynes, cherish it, don’t ever take it for granted and make the most of that person because nothing lasts forever.
