Old Couple Snaps ‘Last’ Photo, But When Niece Looks Closer, She Realizes She’s Seen This Before

bez-imeni-1

James and Lauretta Burke of Akron, Ohio, share a love story that stands the test of time.

The lovestruck couple met at a party after James returned home from World War II. They fell in love, got married, and had nine children, 23 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Over time, their friends and family couldn’t help but make parallels between James and Lauretta and Noah and Allie, the couple from The Notebook. This was not just for the tale of young love, but also for the fact that Lauretta began losing her memory from dementia, much like Allie in the film.

James passed away due to heart disease in November 2012. He spent his last moments taking care of Lauretta.

Shortly after James’ passing, the Burke family found themselves going viral, and for the sweetest reason.

A photo was taken of James and Lauretta in his last moments — him looking into the eyes of his beloved, and she staring into his. “My niece took that picture and put it right beside a picture of them on their wedding day 64 years ago,” the couple’s daughter told FOX8. “And then she put it together and put it online.”

The photo went viral and touched hearts around the world. The similarities between the two photos, like bookends to their story, was breathtaking.
