The netizens have been pouring out their love and support to a recently abandoned dog, as well as their rage to the irresponsible owners. Many were heartbroken when they learned about the story of an old cocker Spaniel named Cookie, who was picked up on the streets by the San Bernardino City shelter alongside a one-year-old labrador.
It turned out that both dogs were owned by the same family. However, when the owner went to claim their dogs, the shelter staff were stunned when they decided to surrender and leave Cookie behind, taking home with them the younger pup.
Despite her persistent cries, the owner did not even think twice to abandon Cookie.

Learning about a story from a friend who works at the shelter, OC Small Paws So UT decided to step up and take Cookie under their care.
The rescue center showered Cookie with warmth, love, and affection — what an older dog should be receiving.
She is also being taken cared of by kind-hearted temporary foster, who generously showed Cookie affection.
However, vets at the rescue center found that Cookie has 12 cancerous tumors. Thankfully, they were able to remove most of them in the first surgery.
15 year old Cookie is scheduled for a second surgery to remove the remaining tumors once she is healed.
With Cookie’s medical condition, the rescue decided not to adopt her out. This means that Cookie gets to live her life at the shelter surrounded by people who gave her a second chance to live her life just like how a sweet dog should be.
