Super Tiny Horses: Sammy, Einstein, And Thumbelina

bez-imeni-1

Just like humans, animals come in all colors, shapes, and sizes. Even among those creatures that are often considered larger in size, we may find some smaller species. And this just shows that nature is beautiful and unpredictable.

In this post, we want to draw our attention to the tiny horses that have caught our attention in the past couple of years. Let’s start with Sammy.

In this video below, Sammy was only three days old. His mother, Grace, watches how he chases Sterling Bartow, one of the farm’s owners.

Check out Einstein below. He was born on April 22nd, 2010. He is owned by Cantrell and Rachel Wagner. Einstein reportedly weighed 6 pounds and was only 4 inches tall when he was born. His breeders believed that he was small enough to enter the Guinness Book of World Records.

Then, please meet Thumbelina. The world was introduced to the miniature horse in 2006. She was just 17 inches tall, so small that she was officially recognized as the world’s smallest horse. She received this honor by the Guinness Book of Records after her owners realized that she was not going to get any bigger.

She weighed just 8 pounds at birth, and she eventually grew to 60 pounds. It was believed that her small size could have been caused by dwarfism. However, her size certainly never held her back. In fact, according to Michael Goessling, one of the owners of the farm where the horses are bred, feisty Thumbelina ruled over the stallions and racehorses.

We think these horses are very adorable and such a delight to watch. Clearly, they don’t worry at all that they are smaller than the rest of the animals at the farm. They simply enjoy being loved and cared of while roaming around happily. Surely, we, humans, will be much happier if we learn to accept ourselves the way we are.
