Since the last few years, a significant number of people tries to move from their usual home to small houses. “Klein, aber mein” (Small, but mine) –This German proverb comes to our mind. Now more people is changing the standard house for something smaller, cleaner and more comfortable.

Of course, furnishing a house with everything you need to live in it is not a simple task. But now there are finished projects to make it easier.

The owner of this miniature house is the designer and architect Lina Menard. She prefers to live in small spaces. Lina lives in Portland, Oregon: a city full of these tiny homes.

Her house looks amazing: warm wood and earth shades with bright highlights. This is one of the most beautiful options.

Lina Menard always wanted a small house. She graduated in design and construction of environment-friendly spaces. Menard bought a van, turned it into a small mobile home and named it “The Lucky Penny”.

The size of the house is 100 square feet, but it feels roomy thanks to its unique design.

The interior is dominated by warm shades of copper and wood. The distinctive characteristic is the presence of shelves, stairs, and windows on the ceiling.

The house also has a small bathtub and a shower located behind the door. Lina built a bio-toilet for her other necessities. Next to the shower she has a mini-fridge, under a work area. The bed can be opened to turn into a full-size bed.

Every day more people in different places are starting to think about the viability of big houses, and starting to value the small cozy places. That is really great!
