This boy was definitely at the right place at the right time and because of his bravery, he ended up saving the life of a toddler.

12-year-old Brayden Armstrong from Michigan has been hailed for saving the life of a toddler who fell into a hotel pool.

Around 5 pm on Tuesday, Brayden, who had been visiting the area to attend a wrestling camp at Central Michigan University, had to return to the pool because he forgot a few things there.

Evidently, the three-year-old boy, who is yet to be identified, must have slipped on the steps in the hotel pool and went under.

According to the Sheriff’s office, the toddler was underwater for nearly two minutes when Brayden arrived at the scene.

He immediately noticed the little child face down in the water and without sparing a second’s thought, Brayden jumped in the pool.

In an interview, Brayden said, “I jumped in and grabbed him.”

Brayden then managed to carry the boy into the hotel hallway and called for an adult to help. The child’s mother, on seeing what was going on, immediately performed CPR on her son and in about a minute, the toddler regained consciousness.

According to the Sherrif’s office, the child was breathing and crying by the time emergency rescue got to the scene.

Brayden, who jumped in the water while still wearing his street clothes said he acted on ‘instincts.’

He said:

“I’m glad to know that the kid is OK.”
County Sherriff, Michael Main was very impressed with Brayden’s quick thinking and bravery.

“Thank goodness for him being there and reacting as quickly as he did. There’s no doubt that he saved that young boy’s life. He’s certainly a hero. … When people do things outside their wheelhouse that are amazing like that, there’s no other explanation than a hero.”
