Turning 21 is an exhilarating cause for celebration. It was exciting for Bailey Sellers, too, but in her case, this birthday meant more than just coming of age. It was an emotional and sad moment for her as well.
When she was only 16, her father passed away. It was just some time before his death that he prepaid for five years’ worth of flower bouquets for Bailey, arranged to arrive on her birthday. So, the last birthday bouquet was set to arrive when she turned 21.
Bailey shared a beautiful post on her Twitter page, along with the photos of the flowers, a note and a photo that captured one of many precious moments with her dad.
The post got more than a million likes and moved people all over the globe. Bailey received heartfelt messages from people she’s never met before in her life, many of whom understood exactly what she was going through, having experienced it themselves.
Bailey’s dad also wrote her a letter before he died, and she chose to share it with the world.
You are and will always be the most precious jewel I was given.
The love parents have for their children is immeasurable, and goes beyond what we can explain. Bailey’s father’s words and gestures proved just that.
I will still be with you through every milestone, just look around and there I will be.
Having read so many sincere and heartbreaking comments, Bailey wrote on Twitter that she was glad to see that her dad’s thoughtfulness influenced a lot of people.
Bailey’s dad found a wonderful way to create new memories with his daughter, and she will cherish it forever.
