1. Honey and lemon
You will need one tablespoon honey and two tablespoons lemon juice. Lemons contain vitamin C which boosts the immune system, while honey serves as an antibacterial. Honey also has antifungal properties, which will also boost your immune system. Simply mix the honey and lemon juice and take by the spoonful. It will sooth the irritated airways.

3. Kurkuma

Mix 1 teaspoon of powdered turmeric and with half a teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water and gargle to reduce phlegm. You can also drink one teaspoon of turmeric in a warm glass of milk or water three times a day.
4. Ginger
Ginger is an aromatic rhizome that belongs to the Zingiberaceae family, a tropical Asian herb. Not only does it remove phlegm congestion from the lungs but also soothes a sore throat.
You will need 6 to 8 thin slices of ginger, one teaspoon honey, one teaspoon black pepper and two cups of water. A dash of lemon juice can also be added for taste.
Bring the water to boil and add the slices of ginger. Let it steep for approximately five minutes and drain the liquid. Mix with the honey and pepper, and take small sips once the mixture cooled.
