47 Puppies Rescued From Puppy Mill

Members and volunteers at the South Suburban Humane Society in Chicago Heights cared for almost 50 dogs that were rescued from an awful situation.

Thirteen dogs were removed on October 26th after paramedics discovered the situation when they were responding to a call for medical assistance. The humane society staff returned and rescued 34 more dogs on Friday.

Most of the dogs rescued needed immediately medical attention with conditions ranging from tumors to partial blindness and emaciation.

Ever since the rescue, one dog has died, and five are being treated right now. The rest have been sent to foster homes.

The owner, however, has not been charged yet even though the house was deemed uninhabitable by county officials. The owner has signed the dogs over to the humane society voluntarily.

Hopefully the cruel residents who were using the puppies as a puppy mill will be charged for their ill care of these animals!
