Today, people spend thousands of dollars on their weddings. Weddings have become not only a celebration of the love two people share and the start of a new family. It must be a big party for family and friends which includes fancy a fancy restaurant, music bands, floristic designs and many other things. One of the most expensive things is, of course, the gown. Brides can spend months looking for and trying on a lot of wedding dresses.
However, a few decades ago, people had much simpler weddings. When Janith Goedde was preparing for her wedding in 1957, she bought a dress for $69. She and her boyfriend, Joe, were completely in love, and simple outfits didn‘t make their big day less meaningful.
Today, 60 years after the wedding, the couple confess they are even more in love with each other. Recently, they celebrated their 60th anniversary, and their children came up with a wonderful idea.
Since the woman had lost 40 pounds, they thought it would be amazing if she wore her gown.
Janith was really excited to put on her wedding dress. But it fit her perfectly!
Her granddaughter, Alison, posted the photo on Twitter along with the comment: “My grandma is 80, she just celebrated 60 years with her man, AND she fits in her wedding dress.”
Do you think she looks as beautiful in her dress as 60 years ago? Well, her husband, Joe, does!
