n the municipality of Nezahualcóyotl in Mexico, the nonprofit animal welfare organization «Mundo Patitas» received an urgent complaint. It was about a Labrador Retriever that was being kept on a rooftop. The neighbors had seen the owner torturing his dog many times and had finally caught the abuse on camera. Now they wanted the local police to do something about it.

What kind of a person would treat an animal like that? It’s an awful thing to witness, but at least the story has a happy ending.
Fortunately the local police together with volunteers from Mundo Patitas were able to rescue the dog. They brought it to a shelter where veterinarians treated the injuries it had suffered as a result of this horrible abuse.
They named the dog Nala and are now looking for a new home for her. In the meantime, the volunteers have set up a fundraising campaign to help pay for her treatment.

There is a good lesson to be learned here: if you see an animal being abused, don’t turn a blind eye. When people get involved and take action, it can mean the difference between life and death for some animals. And don’t forget that there are many more animals like Nala out there who are looking for a loving home, so if you’re thinking of getting a pet, consider adoption. The animals will show their gratitude with a lifetime of affection!
