Sometimes, we witness unfortunate events that make us think whether we should help or remain as passive bystanders.
A show called What Would You? performed a social experiment to test whether people are still capable of performing acts of kindness to a stranger in need.
The result might reduce you to tears.
An actor who posed as a US military veteran and a grocery cashier were hired in order to conduct a social experiment. The scenario plays as follows: he is the counter speaking with the cashier while telling some of his life stories and his apparent financial difficulty at home.
His credit card was denied when he is about to pay for the bill. He tried to pay in cash by excluding some items (including his baby’s diapers) yet he is still short by $8. Needless to say, this happened in front of other unsuspecting strangers while being observed by a hidden camera.
This video garnered over 2 million views in Youtube and generated heated discussions ranging from performing acts of kindness to the call of additional support to the military.
