Attention ’90s Kids: Loonette From ‘The Big Comfy Couch’ Is Still Beautiful (And Silly)

bez-imeni-1

If you’re a child of the ’90s, then Caillou, The Magic School Bus, and The Big Comfy Couch were probably some of your favorite TV shows growing up. I was straight-up OBSESSED with the latter, and I even had my own Molly doll that I played with incessantly.

Molly’s BFF was Loonette, the pretty clown girl played by Canadian actress Alyson Court. Believe it or not, it’s been 25 years since The Big Comfy Couch first premiered, and Alyson is still as beautiful and goofy as she was back in the ’90s.
In case you need a reminder, The Big Comfy Couch followed the daily adventures of Loonette the clown and Molly, her living doll.

Molly was so stinking cute. Look at her rosy cheeks!

During every episode, Loonette would perform the «Clock Rug Stretch,» and we would always wonder how she got her body to move like that.

Don’t lie. You tried to imitate it.
2
Loonette and Molly would read stories, take visits to Granny’s house, and clean up messes during the «Ten Second Tidy.»

I was always amazed at how many things were hiding in the couch.

It’s all coming back to you now, isn’t it?

It’s been a quarter of a century and I still don’t understand how she moved her legs like this. Who is this flexible?!

Well now, Loonette (played by Alyson Court) is 43 years old but still as gorgeous and youthful as ever!

And unlike many stars of children’s television, Alyson is super proud of her Loonette days.

5
The actress (who has since taken on many voice and acting roles) is extremely active on Twitter and very outspoken about politics and social activism.

And in 25 years, she legitimately has not aged.

6

She even takes the time to revisit the character of Loonette for talk show appearances, making all of our ’90s dreams come true.

I just want to sit and binge watch The Big Comfy Couch now.

The theme song is currently stuck in my head… with little hope of escaping any time soon.
