An emotional moment was thankfully captured on film when parents Patrick and Andie heard their mute autistic son speak, or should I say sing. Typically, their son Patrick Jr. communicates using gestures and has only limited verbal communication skills.
Their son has always shown an interest in music, so the family decided to test whether Patrick Jr. would find it easier to communicate through music. As you can see in the video below, not only were the results better than hoped, his parents are clearly brimming with joy hearing their son sing along to «Hallelujah.»
For lil Patrick Jr., his autism means that he has an irrational fear about speaking. It therefore takes a tremendous amount of bravery on his part to ignore the fears and use his vocal chords. We’re just glad his parents were there to hear this wonderful, tender moment.
