Have you ever wished you could go back in time to see what life was like for your parents, grandparents, or even great-grandparents? Maybe there is a specific time that you find so fascinating, you collect music or clothing from that period.
But what if you decided to turn back time and live in the golden days of the past?
Mandy and Gary Jones of Staffordshire, England, love the 1950s. They drive a retro Chevrolet, dress in vintage clothing, listen to rockabilly records, and do as much as possible to live the lifestyle of that decade.
They have even converted a room in their home to a ’50s-style diner, complete with an original turntable and jukebox.
The couple says that their shared passion has done wonders for their marriage. “Common interests make the relationship stronger,” Gary says.
Not only do they live like this in their daily lives, their vacations are also inspired by the ’50s. The couple has traveled around the world to participate in ’50s dance and other themed events.
Along the way, they have made many great friends from as far as Australia, all of whom have also chosen to turn back time and live like it’s still the ’50s.
It sounds like Mandy and Gary have created the perfect life for themselves — although I might choose a different time period!
