When Elvis Presley snagged his first record deal 1954, there was no one that could compare to his incredible style. His rockabilly infused tunes were influenced by the greats like Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis. But there was just something about Presley’s style that was able to bridge the rock’n’roll – mainstream gap.
Presley’s first RCA single, “Heartbreak Hotel”, was released in January 1956 and became a number-one hit in the United States. He was regarded as the leading figure of rock and roll after a series of successful network television appearances and chart-topping records. No one could have known that Presley would become King of Rock’n’roll and no one could have stopped it.
One of Presley’s most celebrated songs was not in the same style that made him famous. Elvis sang the song, ‘I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You,’ with a delicate croon that continues to warm hearts all around the world. We’ve heard some great covers of the iconic song before, but the one we’ve found for you today just may give The King a run for his money.
The couple in the cover below, Andrew James & Chandler Gallagher, recorded a ‘Country’ version of ‘I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You’ that will certainly bring you to tears.
