Finding out that you’re pregnant should be a happy occasion – something that you celebrate with your friends and family.
For Kimberly Henderson, however, it was the complete opposite.
She had just found out that her boyfriend was cheating on her, and she had three young children who solely depended on her.
At the time, Kimberly believed that getting an abortion was the right decision for her and her family.
Still, she was sitting alone at the clinic – crying so hard that her T-shirt was soaking wet.
When it was her turn, she stood up and walked to the desk.
However, something fell out from her purse. When she read it, she immediately walked out from the clinic.
It was a sign from God.
This is an excerpt of she wrote on her Facebook, recalling this emotional day:
“Two years ago today, I was sitting in an abortion clinic thinking not having Vaida was best for me. People remember dates for birthdays, and anniversaries. Well, this date is forever burned in my brain.
I kept telling myself I’m all alone I need to do this. Sitting there, I could hardly make out anyone or anything through the tears.
But my heart was heavy.
I prayed God would stop and give me a sign, give me the strength to get up and walk out of here..
The lady called me to the desk. Last step before you go back. I fumbled through my wallet to find my driver’s license and out fell a card a couple left on the table Saturday night when I was working. On the back was a common verse..
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.’ —Isaiah 41:10″
When she read the message, Kimberly believed that this was an act of God. He was trying to tell her something.
So, she walked out of the clinic.
“Pouring tears, I walked out and felt a huge weight off my shoulders. No matter what your circumstances are, God doesn’t make mistakes and he is here for you.”
After a scary pregnancy, and after countless weak moments thinking I just could not do this by myself. September 12, 2013, I welcomed my beautiful Vaida Everly into this world with both my best friends by my side.”
What an incredible moment of finding God’s presence.
