Tyrone Morris was quickly skimming through the security footage recorded from his baby’s room when he stumbled upon something that he just had to share with the world. Earlier this year, in January 2017, Tyrone installed security cameras into his home in Durban, South Africa to protect his family. While most of the footage was uneventful, when he was scrolling through the footage he quickly pressed rewind when he saw his wife suspiciously laying down on the floor in the middle of the night doing something quite unusual.
In the footage, Tyrone’s wife, Caryn, was laying next to their baby boy’s crib after she just put him down for a nap. Apparently as she was lulling her son to sleep, she ended up on the floor next to his crib. Now that he was asleep she now had to figure out how she was going to leave the room!
We’ve all been there when our babies finally nod off to dreamland, but we find ourselves stuck unless we want to risk waking them back up again. Caryn had found herself unable to leave the room without waking up her little boy. But she also wanted to go back to her bed so she could get some much needed sleep herself. What was she to do?
Well, she decided that she wouldn’t be able to just get up and walk away so she did the next best thing. She was going to slowly crawl away on her back. And Tyrone’s camera captured all of it.
In the bizarre, yet still amusing footage below you will see Caryn slowly make her way to and out the door of her baby son’s bedroom. But you will be amazed as she somehow manages to do it without waking up her baby boy even once! It’s truly an incredible feat! She slowly makes her way through the door until her head disappears out of sight.
In an interview with Times Live, Caryn explained what happened that forced her to cleverly make her escape this way.
We had guests at home for dinner and because he sensed people around he was moaning and wanted to get out the cot. Every time I walked out the room he would stand up and moan.
Caryn found that nothing else would work so she sat with him until he dozed off..
I decided to sit on the floor next to the cot so he could see me. He then just lay there with his eyes a little bit open. I lay back and noticed he didn’t flinch or move or try and get out the cot. I slithered a little bit and he still remained on his side. Before I knew, I made it out the door and he hadn’t moved. I was too nervous to go back in the room to see if his eyes were open.
Tyrone is a gymnast and the video has sparked many jokes among their friends that they had no idea that she, too, was capable of such incredible moves!
When Tyrone found the footage he knew he had to share it with his family and friends on Facebook. On Facebook in a post Tyrone wrote the following
The best thing about having cameras in your house is watching your wife trying to exit the room after putting your son down. Sometimes you have to use your initiative for your exit!”
Caryn sure used her wits to finally make her way back to her bedroom! Shortly after the video was posted to Facebook, the post immediately went viral and soon millions of people across the globe were watching and laughing! The post had been shared over 100,000 times!
Some of the comments were from other parents who also had to stage their own daring yet silent escapes without waking their children. But others thought that Caryn’s movements and glowing eyes in the video reminded them more of something “creepy” or “demonic.” In fact the footage looks like something straight out of a Paranormal Activity movie!
