These fearless parents decided to save their kids and give birth to conjoined twins despite everything their doctors said.
It was an incredibly courageous decision that this couple did. When Chelsea Torres, 22, got pregnant for the second time, she was beyond happy. She had already had a three-year-old son named Jaysin.
When she was at her third week, the woman went to do a scan, where it appeared that she’s going to have conjoined twins. The doctors were unanimous in their recommendations to terminate the pregnancy, but the family decided otherwise.
To say that her nine months were hard is to say nothing about what the woman had to live through. Though, she managed to carry her children up to the pre-arranged date of their Cesarian section.
Fantastic Callie and Carter were born at 37 weeks in January. The mother couldn’t hold her tears and was extremely scared to hold her tiny and fragile babies. It appeared that the kids had just two legs and one pelvis between them, but two separate torsos. Though, all the vital organs were separate for each of them.
Afterward, the doctors concluded that the babies were very healthy and there was no reason to separate them. The point is that separation is a highly complicated operation that is done only when both children have little chances to survive.
The life of the Torres family changed drastically since the babies were born. They had adjusted everything from the kid’s clothes to car seats so that it was comfortable for them to lead their everyday lives.
People in the neighborhood are extremely supportive of the family and know their situation. Though, there are some who are casting strange glances when seeing the family walk by.
