In the summer of 2016, Ellen was all set to continue with her show taping when an unexpected phone call changed everything.
The call came from Ellen’s own receptionist at the front desk, who said she just received a very powerful letter from someone who happened to be sitting in the audience that day. The receptionist said she thought Ellen should hear the letter, right then and there.
With the call on speaker, an audience member named Kim quickly realized the receptionist was reading her very own words. Kim was sitting beside her mom Becky, and the pair broke down in tears.
Kim and Becky are not only massive fans of Ellen, but they also both endured their battles against cancer… together.
The mother-daughter duo would spend their grueling chemotherapy sessions watching Ellen’s show, and it helped them get through their illness with positivity and laughter. But Kim was facing another uphill battle with her health.
Once Ellen hung up the phone, she called Kim and Becky up to the stage. Trust me, you do not want to miss the surprises in store.
