Dogs are called a man’s best friends for a reason! So many of them work for the police, sniffing bombs on the battlefields, work as therapy dogs at hospitals. Many dogs are trained to do those things, some dog were born to make someone’s life better.
Saki, a German shepherd, was being fostered in a home in California before her official training for the National Disaster Foundation. The dog was going somewhere every day.
“After approximately two weeks, in the morning I’d look around and Saki wasn’t there!” said the foster mom.
As it turned out, Saki slipped through the fence and ran to the neighbors, where she visited 5-year-old Danny, who had developmental delays. The little boy was very shy and quiet, but when Saki appeared in his life, it has changed completely.
Danny’s mom said: “He would take Saki’s face in his hands, and look her in the eyes and talk to her — and she would listen.” The boy started to speak full sentences, somehow that dog taught him confidence.
Despite everything, Saki still belonged to the National Disaster Foundation, so the family did something very touching.
