Nicole Sedgeber is giving back to a homeless man who helped her when she was in need several weeks ago. The 21-year-old girl found herself all alone in the middle of the night in London after missing her last train home. The girl didn’t know what to do and started to cry. But unexpectedly, a homeless man, named Mark came to help. Mark found her a safe place to spend the night.
Mark became her guardian angel. The kind man saw the girl in tears and offered to escort her to a café because that part of the city was dangerous. He also promised her to pick up in the morning to make sure she boarded the right train.
After Nicole had shared her heartwarming experience on Facebook, her story went viral with almost 19 000 shares and 10 000 likes.
Nicole set up a crowdfunding page to raise money for Mark. She said: “Mark embodies the best of humanity. He went out of his way to help me, a complete stranger, when the reality of his situation is that people walk past him every day without offering him help.”
Mark has a big heart. It is a true act of kindness, isn’t it? People on social media started to write messages of support for Mark.
Nicole added: “We live in a world where we are so weary of the malicious. It’s nice to see there are some nice genuine people in this day & age. Thanks & good luck Mark :)”
