Headboards can be quite heavy and quite expensive, so it pays to find an alternate use for them rather than having to haul them away to the garbage and throw away all that money.

You can create amazing customized furniture and accent pieces with your old headboards that can complement the inside and outside of your home. All you need is a few ideas for inspiration and a few tools and or some paint.

And if you’re not good with tools, some of these don’t even require them.

This DIYer chopped off the legs of this headboard and painted it with some chalkboard paint. They also added some hooks to create a family message board and place to hang their keys.
