The skin is the largest organ in the body; it covers about 20 square feet. It protects us from microbes, helps us regulate body temperature, and permits the sensations of touch, heat and cold.
But when something surfaces that shouldn’t be there, like a wart, you notice it right away. Some people take their skin for granted and don’t do anything about it, but for those who take pride in healthy skin, you want it taken care of.
The good news is that there are natural remedies that can cure your warts, moles, blackheads, skin tags, and age spots. All you have to do is continue reading to find out what they are.
Why Our Skin is Important: But before we get into the natural remedies, lets first discuss what makes our skin so important. Our skin contains three layers which are known as epidermis (the outer layer), dermis (the middle layer), and hypodermis (the inner and thickest layer).
Each of those layers helps protect us from elements like rain, snow and the UV rays from the sun. It also helps regulate our metabolism, body temperature, circulation and fluid balance.
Conventional Removal Methods: If you don’t feel like removing anything from your skin, a doctor will gladly take care of the warts, skin tag and blackheads for you. Some of the methods they could use include cryotherapy (freeze the area than remove) and laser surgery (use a laser to burn it off).
Natural Remedies for Warts: OK, we have finally made it to the natural remedies section of this article. Warts are noncancerous growths that are most commonly found on the hands and feet. Warts have the ability to spread between people from direct or indirect contact.
The first natural remedy to remove warts is Fresh Garlic. Crush a clove of garlic, apply it to the wart, and then bandage it up. Let it sit for 30 minutes, then remove the bandage and wash the wart thoroughly. Repeat this twice daily for at least one week or until the warts fall off. The next remedy is Vitamin C. Crush a few vitamin C pills and mix it with half a tablespoon of water. Mix the powder and apply the paste to the wart and bandage it up. You may feel a burning sensation, but it will quickly go away.
Natural Remedies for Moles: Most moles grow as a direct cause of sun exposure or due to genetics. To remove them the first natural remedy you’ll want to try is Castor Oil with Baking Soda. Mix a pinch of baking soda with a few castor oil drops and rub it all over your mole. Let it dry for a few hours than repeat this twice a day for about a month.
The second remedy is Pineapple Juice. This tasty drink will not remove your mole, but it will lighten the pigment. Simply take a cotton ball and soak it in pineapple juice then tape it to the mole. Try this twice a day for about a month.
Natural Remedies for Blackheads: Blackheads can affect people of all ages. They usually develop because of a build-up of dirt and dead skin cells. If you don’t treat them right, it can lead to visible breakouts.
The first natural remedy you can try is Cinnamon. Mix one teaspoon of cinnamon powder with lemon juice. Apply it to the area of the blackhead and let it sit for 15 minutes, and then rinse it off. The second remedy is Oatmeal. Prepare a bowl of oatmeal and mix in a teaspoon of honey and tomato juice. Mix them together and apply the paste to the blackhead and let it sit for 15 minutes.
Natural Remedies for Skin Tags: Skin tags are pieces of skin that are soft, small and can vary in color from skin-toned to brown. The first remedy is Apple Cider Vinegar. Saturate a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar and rub your skin tag with it. You might feel a stinging sensation, but it doesn’t last long. Then tape the cotton ball to your skin tag and leave it there for a few hours. Repeat this three times a day and the tag should be gone or start to deteriorate in a few weeks.
The second remedy you can use is Tea Tree Oil. Soak a cotton ball in water than add four drops of tea tree oil. Gently massage your skin tag with the cotton ball and wait for about three hours before washing it off. Do this three times a day and your skin tag should fall off painlessly after a few weeks.
Natural Remedies for Age Spots: The first remedy to try is Rosehip Essential Oil. Before applying it, make sure the area is damp. Massage it on your skin for two minutes. The antioxidants it contains will reduce the age spot. The second remedy to try is Geranium Oil. This oil is similar to rosehip because of the antioxidants it contains. Mix coconut oil or olive oil with five drops of geranium oil. Apply this blend to your age spots before bed for best results.
