Famous actor, Hugh Jackman is smiling in appreciation as he celebrated in Brazil recently.
He is grateful for his life after doctors had been able to successfully remove the cancerous skin from his nose a week ago.
The 48-year-old actor had to undergo surgery for the sixth time after a visit with a doctor revealed that the cancer had returned to his nose.
He posted a video on his Instagram page in which he spoke in Portuguese.
He said: “Obrigado São Paulo, obrigado Brasil, feliz carnaval! Saúde!” which translates to: “Thank you São Paulo, thank you Brazil. Happy Carnival! Health!”.
He had the surgery to remove basal cell carcinoma from his nose. A condition he had had to deal with for the sixth time in the last two years.
He posted a selfie after the operation and captioned it with the words: “Another basal cell carcinoma. Thanks to frequent body checks and amazing doctors, all is well. Looks worse with the dressing on than off. I swear! #wearsunscreen.”
Last year, he revealed that he had had five skin cancer removed since 2013. He assured all that he was fine thanks to frequent check-ups.
Since then, Jackman has been very vocal in his attempts to warn fans of the dangers of going without sunscreen.
He said, last year, “An example of what happens when you don’t use sunscreen. Basal cell. The mildest form of cancer. PLEASE WEAR SUNSCREEN and get check-ups regularly!”
