There’s a legend that has circulated for many years around the picturesque town of Cambridge near Albany, New York, about a young girl struck and killed on train tracks there.
Fast-forward to May 2017, when a group of hunters in Cambridge set up a camera to make sure people were not crossing the land and ending up in danger.
When the hunters checked the footage, they found something that immediately caught their attention. As it turns out, they captured a blurry and startling still-frame image. It was black-and-white, and showed a young girl walking and playing along the trail through those very woods. Her face was clouded, and it looked like her arms and legs were fading from plain sight.
The photo went viral. As weeks passed, the townspeople desperately wanted to identify the girl and get in touch with her family. The image also spread like wildfire among paranormal enthusiasts across the country.
Many believed the little girl in the photo was a ghost… perhaps of the girl struck by the train all those years ago.
But while some were convinced there were spirits at hand, others said it was nothing more than a photo of a girl in the woods.
Now, the mystery of the “ghost girl” has been solved —and she’s no ghost at all.
