For a few years now, Rodrigo Alves has been making headlines due to how far he was willing to go to look like a real-life Ken Doll.
Not pleased with his natural look, Alves decided to go the plastic surgery route. He has reportedly had over 60 surgeries and spent more than $700,000 in a matter of years to change almost every part of his body.
Done with the procedures
Alves recently spoke to DailyMail and announced that he will no longer be undergoing plastic surgeries. The 34-year-old told the publication:
Unless I need something done for medical procedures, I am completely done with it.
He said he came to this decision after being told that any more surgery will likely be dangerous to his health.
I have to stop with plastic surgery. There is nothing else that can be changed without compromising my health.
Alves talked about how he was obsessed with plastic surgery for several years, and there have been a few times where things did not work out like he had hoped. He revealed that he once had gel fillers in his arms, and for four weeks, he was paralyzed in that area.
This is not the first time the human Ken Doll has said he was quitting surgery. He told Daily Mirror two years ago that he was done after he had to have an emergency surgery on his nose as a result of necrotic processes that began taking place in his body.
At the time, he said he was not going to undergo these procedures unless there was a medical necessity.
When he appeared on FOX TV on January 29th, Alves revealed that he will now be focusing on raising money for people who need plastic surgery for reconstructive and medical reasons but can’t afford it.
Whether Rodrigo Alves chooses to stop for real this time remains to be seen. But this was an extreme he needn’t have gone to in the first place. Accepting who you are is one of the keys to true happiness.
