Some people just have a certain chemistry together that can create magic. And that’s why it’s so important for ice skating partners to have the type of connection that creates a beautiful and moving routine as they fly through the air performing stunning moves.

Skaters Vanessa James and Morgram Cipres have an undeniable chemistry together and it certainly showed during their performance at the 2017 European Championships.
James and Ciprès teamed up in 2010 and are the 2017 European bronze medalists and five-time (2013-17) French champions. They switched their coaches and relocated to Moscow in 2014 where they trained for the summer and fall before returning to France.

They switched coaches again and relocated to the U.S. to train following the 2015-16 season. They now train in Coral Springs, Florida under coach John Zimmerman and Jeremy Barrett

So, they’ve had a long time to build that chemistry together.
Before their partnership, James competed with Yannick Bonheur and won the French title in 2010 and competed at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games where they finished 14th.

They were also the first Africa-American pair to compete at the Olympics, according to icenetwork.com. She also competed for Great Britain in singles from 2005-08. She had won titles prior to that and was a singles skater in the U.S. for three seasons. She started skating when she was 11-years-old.

Ciprès was a singles skater in France from the 2004-10 and placed fourth at the French championships in 2010. He began skating when he was 4.

Though they are both phenomenal skaters in their own right, together they are just spectacular.
You can tell that their chemistry together had been perfected in their European Championships performance where they skated to The Weekend’s “Earned It.” The routine they’ve created absolutely wowed the commentators who gushed throughout their entire performance.

The execution of their complicated moves was perfect, as was the sultriness they brought to their routine. The video of their performance was viewed more than 462,000 times on YouTube.

“Vanessa’s reaction is just [fire emoji symbols]. Finally they’re finding their best skating when it counts most and getting the scores to reward their great work,” wrote one YouTube user. “So proud of them. What a turning point this could be in their careers.”

“Wow!!! I am blown away….terrific, awesome, beautiful performance…and the perfect music to enhance it beyond words,” said another. “I am embarrassed to say how many times I’ve watched it. Wow! The technical scores should have been out of this world!!! This performance should of put them in 1st place….they EARNED IT! They were simply AMAZING!!! They have given me a reason to watch skating….or rather watch them skate amazingly.”
