They say everything is not as it seems and this story certainly proves that point.
At a first glance, you would assume that this is just a normal rabbit hole. You probably would not imagine that there could be something utterly amazing on the others side. But there is.
This rabbit hole has led to a 700-year-old secret Knight Templar cave network. Yes, the tunnel actually revealed untouched caves that were used by the followers of these medieval religious order that fought in the Crusades.
Interestingly enough, these wondrous caves are hidden beneath a farmer’s field. See the awe-inspiring photos.
The hole reveals a beautiful cave that holds many secrets.
The caves, located in Shropshire, have been untouched in about 700 years.
This was the location that served as a meeting point for the Knight Templars.
The photographer who took the images, Michael Scott, said, “‘I traipsed over a field to find it, but if you didn’t know it was there you would just walk right past it.”
“Considering how long it’s been there it’s in amazing condition, it’s like an underground temple,” Scott added.
The network of walkways is filled with beautifully carved arches
Scott set out to search for this historical beauty after he saw a video.
The only way to reach these tunnels is through the rabbit hole.
Scott said the place was quite cramped. He said, “I had to crouch down and once I was in it was completely silent. There were a few spiders in there but that was it.”
Even though it was raining during his visit, Scott noted that the inside of the cave was pretty dry.
