Early one morning, just before Christmas, a 71-year-old woman named Margaret ran a red light. She arrived to court to dispute the ticket and found herself standing before Judge Frank Caprio of Caught In Providence fame.
But in all her years of driving, Margaret had not once received a ticket or parking violation. She was understandably nervous, having never experienced anything like this before. Judges can be intimidating!
As Margaret watched back the security tapes and admitted her mistake, she burst into tears. She wanted to explain herself to the judge, but she simply couldn’t hold back her emotions.
The anxiety-ridden woman was on her way back to the hospital when she ran through the light. Her husband had recently undergone surgery, and there were complications. She was so preoccupied with his health that she didn’t even notice the red light.
Judge Caprio couldn’t help but be sympathetic toward the worried wife… and it led to a truly heartwarming moment, right there in the courtroom.
