Kailyn Lowry may only have a few weeks left to go in her pregnancy, but it looks like she’s going to be dealing with her baby daddy drama right up until the time she enters the delivery room.
As Radar Online reports exclusively, Kailyn’s ex, Chris Lopez, has officially started blocking her calls.
The Teen Mom 2 star has no way to reach Chris when the baby arrives—and, apparently, that’s how he wants it!
“Kail doesn’t have his number,” an insider close to Kailyn, 25, told Radar Online. “He disconnected his phone.”
In fact, the only way Kailyn can reach the father of her third child is if she goes out of her way to email him, which he reportedly checks “frequently,” according to an insider.
Since announcing her surprise pregnancy, the MTV star has made no secret of the fact that her unborn baby’s father has no intention of being the world’s greatest dad.
“Kail became a relationship of convenience for him,” the source said. “He never actually loved her. It was a relationship, but he just decided he wanted something different and things didn’t work out so they went their separate ways.”
Kailyn, who is also the mother of Isaac, 7, with ex-boyfriend Jo Rivera and Lincoln, 3, with ex-husband Javi Marroquin reportedly “truly loved him [Lopez]” when they were together.
“Kail was very upset when they broke up,” the insider explained. “But she has never said anything bad about him. She wishes him the best and hopes he’s genuinely happy with his life.”
Earlier this year, Kailyn announced to fans on her blog that she will be raising her child alone when the baby arrives in July.
“I think I’m most worried about the changes ahead, but also that I will have this baby 24/7 by myself with no help,” she wrote. “I’m going to be a single parent from the beginning!”
As it turns out, under Delaware state law, Kailyn’s ex-husband Javi will legally be considered the father of her third child if she cannot get in touch with Chris soon.
“Delaware law states that the ex-husband is presumed the father of a child if the child is born less than 300 days after the divorce,” New York Attorney Brooke A. Camhi, who is not licensed in Delaware, told Radar Online.
According to state law, in order for Chris Lopez to be legally considered as the father of Kailyn’s child, he must file a valid acknowledgement of paternity to “discharge the presumed father from all rights and duties of a parent,” Statute 8-305 reads.
