Kelly Clarkson, the winner for the first season of American Idol, returned back to the stage during the final season for an epic performance. It’s been over 10 years since she first won the competition, and her career has catapulted into superstardom as a result. Kelly Clarkson released multiple albums, and her first album, Thankful, went on to be certified double platinum. She’s won three Grammy awards too in her career, and it’s all started with her performances on the American Idol stage.
Kelly returned to honor the show’s final season, and she sang an emotionally gripping song that she wrote herself. Titled “Piece By Piece,” the song was written while she was still pregnant with her little girl. In the performance below, she’s pregnant with her second child, but she still manages to move the crowd to tears with her performance. The song’s lyrics resonate deeply with Kelly’s own life, and tears start to fill her eyes as she loses herself in the song.
By the end, everyone in the crowd, both judges and audience members, are left in tears. The raw emotion from Kelly’s performance is simply unparalleled.
