A veterinarian clinic in Ireland just posted an advert for the greatest job of all time. A professional cat cuddler! Whether you’re stuck in a dead-end minimum wage job or you’re the CEO of Facebook, everyone wants this job!
Just Cats is a veterinarian clinic in Dublin which as you might already have guessed, only treats cats. They claim to be a clinic, which will calm your cat before they are treated with the help of their ‘feline friendly staff’.
Just Cats mention in their advert that the applicants must answer yes to the following questions:
• Are you a crazy cat person and loves cats?
• Does cattitude come naturally to you?
•Have you counted kittens before you go asleep?
•Do you feed the stray cats in your locality?
•Does petting cats make you feel warm and fuzzy?
Although most of us will answer these questions with big fat yesses, they’re obviously not being serious if they ask you if you’ve got ‘cattitude’. I mean, really?
Being serious though they mention that any applicants should have a few qualities including gentle hands:
“The ideal candidate must have gentle hands capable of petting and stroking cats for long periods of time.”
They also mention that the applicants should be a cat whisperer
“They need to be softly spoke and capable of cat whispering to calm the nerves of some of our in patients.”
Also, the fact that they call the cats at their clinic in patients is just adorable!
Another thing they mention is if you really want to get the job you should be able to recognize the different kinds of ways that cats purr and know what they mean:
“An ability to understand different types of purring is a distinct added advantage in helping you secure this position with us.”
So, you better start doing your research you future professional cat cuddler!
Now hold on. Before you go booking your plane ticket to good ole Ireland, the most important requirement for this job is a veterinary council of Ireland recognized qualification. You didn’t think it’d be that easy, did you?
Well you better get to it! To be a vet you’ll need a qualification called Doctor of Veterinary Medicine(DVM).
Just Cats claim that simple tasks like travelling in a car and going to a new place isn’t alarming to us but for cats going to the vet it can be a very stressful experience. They provide instructions as to how to calm your cat before and during the trip so you can tell they’re going to take the best care of your cat if they’re already doing it before you even get to them!

On the other hand, cuddling with cats is scientifically proven to help people themselves calm down and destress. With the tensions and hardships, people go through every day maybe we all just need to a hug a cat occasionally, to make ourselves feel better.
