Your mind is about to be blown.
A makeup artist named Mirjana Kika Milosevic out of Serbia has uploaded a video that is almost too incredible to even comprehend. She’s created a work of art, using makeup to create the most insane optical illusion ever.
Using only makeup, Milosevic creates the illusion that she is headless and her body is completely hollow.
No, we’re not kidding.
The most impressive part is that she designs, draws, and paints her work of art on her very own body. Looking into a mirror, Milosevic carefully constructs her mind-bending illusion using master skill and admirable patience.
As she begins creating her body art, she starts outlining where her “missing head” and “hole in her neck will be.” Looking at her while at this stage, it’s hard to imagine how she can possibly pull this off.
Slowly, as the shading of the makeup becomes darker and darker, a giant hole in her neck starts to appear right before our eyes.
Now that she’s created the hole in her neck illusion, it’s time to make her head “disappear.” Of course, she is standing in front of a very black backdrop, so this assists with the illusion. Milosevic starts using thick, opaque black paint to start “erasing” her head.
She begins slathering on the dark paint, stroke after stroke — the illusion is becoming more and more apparent by the second. Milosevic dramatically lets out a look of worry, as if she knows her head will no longer be attached to her head soon.
Finally — the bizarre makeup optical illusion is complete, and it’s hard to wrap your head around. No pun intended.
Milosevic is clearly one of the most talented makeup artists out there. Her skills are absolutely unparalleled, and it’s to see that when you watch this incredible time-lapse video.
As she sits, headless with a giant gaping hole into her hollow body, a hand comes into frame to give her a little tickle on her neck. It’s the strangest thing to watch because the illusion looks so real!
Even though it’s just makeup, it’s hard not to have to rub your eyes and blink a few times to make sure you’re seeing what you think you’re seeing. The entire time-lapse is mindblowing.
