A kind man was picking mushrooms in Slovenian woods, when he suddenly saw a large wild owl sitting on a dead tree. Although the man was only several feet away from the bird, it didn‘t fly away. So he came up even closer and started to cuddle her. It was so cute and sweet! It seemed that the adorable owl was smiling.
The man was confused – he knew owls don‘t usually behave that way, so he figured there must be something wrong with the bird. He picked her up and and took her to the veterinary clinic. The vet said the wild bird had her two wings broken! The next day, she had a surgery.
The vets also identified the species of the owl. She is a very rare Sloveninan “Kozač” (Strix uralensis), and only 600 couples are living in Slovenia! Very soon, the kind man updated his comment to the video saying the owl was getting better and would be released into the wild after her 5–6 months recovery in the animal hospital. “Please do not kill owls,” he added. “They are so cute and harmless… Thanks”.
