Randy Wagner from Texas was an object of laughter for his neighbors when he got extremely concerned about possible flood. But what happened later made them all change their minds.
Man was more and more concerned when he realized how bad can the flood be so he decided not to rely on chance. He searched for something to save his home from that flood, and finally he found what he was looking for: the Aqua Dam. It is a 400-feet tube that should be filled with water to work as a sandbag around the house. Randy paid $8,300 for the whole thing and spent several hours to fill it up and put it where it should have been. After being done he felt a bit more protected.
Luckily, the investment paid off. When the water rolled in, Wagner’s house stayed dry and safe. It is amazing, because it was a record flood with 27 inches of water. All of the other homes in his neighborhood were filled with it.
Those who laughed and thought that Randy was crazy realized how right he was, and how much trouble and money he had actually saved thanks to his quick thinking. He didn’t say “I told you so!” to those who laughed, he was just happy to have gotten that idea about 400-feet of plastic that saved his home.
