If you can even remember an age before smartphones, the chances are that you had a Nokia 3310 in your pocket at one point or another. After all, the Nokia 3310 was one of the best selling phones of the time, with more than 126 million units. As we all know, it quickly gained cult-status for being extremely reliable and durable.
If you’re sick your iPhone cracking every time it touches the ground, we have some great news: the 3310 is making a return. Originally released in 2000, Nokia decided to re-launch their classic phone this year. It will be revealed at Mobile World Congress later this month, according to Evan Blass who leaked the details.
Believe it or not, there’s still a huge market for used 3310s on Amazon and Ebay, suggesting there is an in-demand market for these old school devices. New phones begin retailing at a budget-friendly $60, meaning they’re bound to be popular.
Nokia plans on advertising the phone as a secondary handset for people who need a phone with long battery life and almost-indestructible exterior.
As social media suggests, it’s fair to say that there’s definitely demand.
