Police officers are trained for years in order to achieve the high level of professionalism. They have to be in good physical shape and ready for a variety of situations. They use the most advanced technology to track and catch criminals. But sometimes, it happens that ordinary people are a crucial factor in capturing the bad guys.
Here is a perfect example. “The Awesome Dozen” is a group of children from Surrey County near London. These kids aged from 6 to 12 years were taking part in the Easter egg hunt on the field, when suddenly they saw a police helicopter circling above them. Shortly after, a suspicious man ran past them. He was running in one direction, but then changed it to the opposite and approached the woods nearby.
It was obvious he confused the police, because the helicopter turned around and was about to fly away. What happened next shows how smart the little egg hunters are.
At first, they waved in the direction the man ran off, but the officers in the helicopter didn‘t notice it. Then two of the kids had an idea. “Let’s lay out the arrow!” they shouted. And they all fell on the ground and took the position.
And it worked! The policemen understood the children weren‘t just playing, so they directed their helicopter to the woods and very soon captured the criminals.
“The Awesome Dozen” proved once again that any young child can be a hero! The police department and the whole community expressed gratitude to the guys for their wit and quick thinking.
