Amy Hamilton was a mother of 10 children with number 11 on the way. Back in 2015, Amy was excited to see eldest daughter Natalie get married.
It was a really big deal, needless to say. Amy didn’t foresee any issues attending, as she was only 26 weeks along. On the day of the wedding, while she was ironing her son’s shirt for the event, she felt her water break.
Amy rushed to the emergency room. She was certain she would miss Natalie’s big day. But Natalie and the groom had other plans.
Instead of carrying on without her mother, the bride and groom brought the wedding to her. They held the ceremony in the hospital, where her mother looked on in a wheelchair.
“Mom had an amazing nurse who helped out a ton,” Natalie said.
“She’s just been a real blessing… She went and bought rollers for my hair and did up my hair for me; I mean what kind of nurse would do that for me?”Amy said. “I just feel so loved, so loved right now that this worked out for me.”
Hospital Chaplin Reverend Phil Rose was excited to participate, as it was the first marriage he had blessed.
While Amy had to remain in the hospital for six weeks to maintain her pregnancy until she was 32 weeks along, she was able put her mind at ease knowing she was there for both her daughters: the one in her belly and the one getting married.
