Oksana Kobletskaya is a 36 year old Ukrainian woman. She lives with her husband Sergey and three year old daughter. When she found out she was pregnant again, her life filled with joy and the couple were anxious to meet the new member of the family.
The couple didn’t plan on having a large family, so two children would have been enough. Oksana’s family had no history of twins, so she was very calm. But when she went to have an ultrasound shortly after becoming pregnant, she got big news.
She knew something was up when she saw the look on the doctor’s face. He told her he saw at least 5 fetuses and there might be as many as 6! Quintuplets appear in 1 out of every 55 million births, so everyone at the clinic was thrilled and couldn’t stop talking about the news.
Oksana said she felt like she was living a nightmare. She and Sergey weren’t rich, so they had to change their plans for the future. Both were overwhelmed by the news and began to ask themselves how they could possibly take care of so many kids.
Oksana went into labor in week 30 of her pregnancy. When she arrived at the hospital, there were 8 doctors ready for her and her newborns. The mom said she was treated very well.
Doctors were prepared for a complicated birth. But the Cesarean was successful and 3 boys and 2 girls were born, all totally healthy, albeit a little small. This family was the first case of quintuplets in the country, so the media attention was huge.
Daria, Alexandra, Denis, Vladislav and David are all celebrities and thanks to them, the couple moved into a more spacious apartment, a gift from the government. The parents are doing a great job with the kids who are now 6 months old, and although they were scared at first, their kids are now their greatest happiness.
When they go for a walk, people can’t hide their wonder and they’re always the center of attention. The quintuplets have become the most loved kids in Ukraine. We wish them all the luck in the world and that they always remain the beautiful family they are now!
