Jason Seifert, a science teacher, is dating math teacher Allyson Barker.
This wouldn’t be such a big deal, except that they both teach at Harry Russell Elementary School in West Carrollton, Ohio.
No matter how discreet they kept their relationship, kids will be kids, and soon, certain rumors began to flood the school — rumors that Mr. Seifert was dating Ms. Barker.
The two teachers decided the best thing to do would be to clear the air to stop the rampant rumors. So, this past Valentine’s Day, the instructors stood at the front of a packed class to declare their relationship.
Luckily, someone got it all on camera.
“The answer is, yes, we are dating,” he said.
Instantly, the kids in the class exploded into excited squeals. Then the science teacher added: “And, we are a little bit more than dating!”
At this point, the kids were (off-camera) flipping out, but they truly lost it when the science teacher got on one knee!
“I was wondering if Ms. Barker would like to become Mrs. Seifert.”
It was utter pandemonium, with the kids yelling and applauding. Oh, and Ms. Barker said yes!
