She Dropped Her Baby Off With Her Father. An Hour Later She Got A Phone Call That Made Her Blood Run Cold

Cheyenne Rae Owensby is a miracle. She was born healthy and happy and was worshiped by her mother. Cheyenne’s parents were divorced, and she visited her father every two weeks. But in August of 2012, when Cheyenne’s mom dropped her off at her dad’s house to spend the night, something terrible happened. An hour and a half after leaving Cheyenne, her mother received a terrible phone call that would change her life forever.

1

Cheyenne was only eight months old at that moment. Her father, James Davis Jr. took her and shook her because she won’t stop crying. The force of an adult man was too much to the baby and ended up fracturing her skull and causing brain bleeding.

2

The mother was informed that her daughter was taken to the nearest hospital and that she wasn’t breathing.

3

She was told Cheyenne would need special cares for the rest of her life and would remain in a vegetative state. The mother said: “I was begging God to please save her or to take me instead. Right when I got by her bedside, seeing her covered in bandages, IVs everywhere, her leg was black from a blood clot, she was so swollen, my phone rings and it’s the cops saying James confessed to shaking her.”

“The man I was in love with, my first love, high school sweetheart, a guy I had known and shared a life with almost ten years did this to our daughter. My whole world came crashing down.”

Cheyenne’s father confessed he did it. He “snapped” and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. But while he was is in jail, Cheyenne’s mother was still fighting for her daughter’s life. Doctors said she wouldn’t make it through the night, and if she made it, she would have to live in a minimally conscious state for the rest of her life.

6

But then a miracle happened! Despite having half of her brain put through surgery, the little girl woke up. She could talk and move, but the right side of her body was paralyzed. However, she still had her joy and she wouldn’t give up despite the obstacles.

7

Meanwhile, Cheyenne has grown up and now she enjoys her life. When you look at her smile, you don’t believe all this sweet girl went through.

8

Cheyenne’s mother regularly updates her Facebook page to let people know about her progress.

Besides that, she wants to spread the message about how important is knowing with whom we leave our children, and if someone has problems dealing with anger, is always better to find help before hurting someone innocent.
