There is nothing more uplifting than a story of a family succeeding against adversity, triumphing over hardship in the name of love. This is one such story.
Melissa suffered years of bouncing in between foster homes, as her mother bounced in and out of jail cells. Now she is 21 years old and in the Marines. She has made a life for herself despite the adversity she has faced in her short life. She is the oldest of three, with two younger brothers whom she has not seen six years. Her, Christian and J.J. were always separated in different foster homes and never had one another to lean on for the support they so desperately needed from each other. Upon hearing her mother tested positive for methamphetamines, she set out to do the impossible — get full custody of her siblings.
Melissa was grasped with the fear of all the judge could admonish her for, that she is too young, can barely afford to keep a roof over her own head and that her brother’s foster care is a better situation than that which she could provide. Still, she embarked on the 2,000-mile excursion to Alabama to plead her case anyway. That is where the miracle begins. Prank It FWD paid for her trip with gas and food, as well as one month’s rent while she was away.
That is not where the story ends. To everyone’s surprise, the judge says yes and Melissa is reunited with her brothers and brings them home. Here she is greeted with another miracle. Prank It WD has given her a brand-spanking new Toyota so she can drive her brothers wherever they need. She had no idea this was going to happen, but now because of her elbow grease and their generosity, she and her family have a fresh start.
