No passenger on board will probably forget what happened on a recent flight from Germany to Houston. An unforgettable moment of American patriotism was witnessed by all the passengers and luckily for us, it was all recorded by an onlooker. When the flight landed, a voice was heard from the speaker, instructing everyone to remain seated – an Army private was escorting the remains of a fallen soldier off of the plane.
A student choir began singing an impromptu song, to show respect to the soldier. A woman named Diane Cupp, captured the song and uploaded it to Facebook with the following caption:
“On our flight from Germany there was a Army private in uniform that so happen to be escorting the remains of a WW11 Soldier back home to Houston . The pilot announced he would be exiting the plane first, as he got up to leave there were a group of young people who had been on tour in Europe all of a sudden they broke out singing Glory Hallelujah. Listen how beautiful !! Will bring a tear to your eye.”
The group was singing “Mine Eyes Have Seen The Glory,” also known as “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.” It feels great to know that they were singing to pay tribute to the fallen hero.
