Have you noticed how people nowadays get seriously offended by other people’s behavior? Even when it has nothing to do with them and is in fact not offending at all. It seems that anything that’s different is considered offensive.

Well this southern guy had it enough and decided to make a video where he celebrates his southern heritage that some people found offensive.

This is Chad Prather, a cowboy from Texas who decided to reprimand certain persons who mocked his southern accent and considered it “unintelligent”. In fact, there was particular insulting message that he received, that provoked this kind of response.

Being a gentleman, Chad made a charming and witty video instead of a rude response. He explained how he actually didn’t have a choice when it comes to dialect, since he grew up in Georgia. He managed to make fun of all those stereotypes without actually offending anyone.

“Well, maybe I’m not that smart. I would love to be as smooth, sophisticated, suave and debonair as those of you who send me those messages seem to be. I wish that I could articulate my thoughts and enunciate my words as you master communicators must be capable of doing. However, I grew up in the state of Georgia, where a Southern dialect really was our only option.”
Chad made it clear that anyone who’s offended by his accent can freely leave from his channel since they were not actually invited at all.

He goes on explaining how southern heritage is all about nice manners, respect for oneself and the others.

Prather explained how down in south, people learn from the early age to be tolerant. That is why he cannot understand why someone would offend and mock him because of a silly stereotype based on the southern accent.

He concluded his video with a beautiful message of tolerance and appreciation for differences and added:

“Here’s another term we use down south, and we’re not ashamed of it – God bless!”
Liked Video this story and spread tolerance together with this unapologetic southerner.
