Any pet owner knows how hard it is to lose his fluffy friend. It takes so much time to recover from such loss and finally be ready for another pet. Some people refuse to have more pets.
That what happened to Steve Greig. His dog beloved dog had passed away.
Steve thought he would not ever going to recover from this loss, as even after several months passed by he was crushed.
But the man wanted to open his heart to another dog, and that had to be a special dog. So he went to a local shelter in Denver, Colorado and adopted “least adoptable” senior dog.
He wanted to find the dogs who had been overlooked and ignored who didn’t seem like they were ever going to find the forever homes of their own.
Now, Greg is taking care of 10 elder shelter dogs. His Instagram filled with pictures of dogs’ daily routine.
Steve wakes up at five in the morning every day to make breakfast for dogs, most of them have special diets, so the man has lots of work in the morning, then walks in the parks, vet appointments, etc
“Whenever I sit or lie down at a dog-friendly level, there are always at least three or four of [dogs] attached,” Greig writes on Instagram.
“They’re just wiser animals,” Greig told. “You kind of know what you want out of life once you become a certain age. These dogs know who they are and it’s easy to develop a relationship with a person or pet who knows who they are. It’s just fulfilling knowing that these guys are happy and loved and well-taken care of. It makes my days worthwhile.”
He also has a pet pig named Bikini, two ducks, some pigeons, chickens and a few cats.
As Steve Greig doesn‘t have any more room for more animals, he wants to expend in the future and take as much shelter dogs as he can, so they would have a loving home.
