bez-imeni-1

A quick-thinking 20-year-old woman has managed to escape kidnappers, thanks to the one useful skill she has that they didn’t.

Jordan Dinsmore, a South Carolina college student was just returning home from work and was about to park her vehicle in the parking lot of her housing complex when three men approached her.

They threatened to shoot and assault her if she did not do as they said. They roughly pulled her out of her vehicle and to the ground. The men, all wearing dark clothing then forced her back into her car so that they can drive off with her. They were soon surprised to see that the vehicle was a stick shift and so they could not drive it.

One of the robbers, who discovered that this could be a flaw in their plan, quickly ran away. The other two shoved Jordan into the driver’s seat so she could navigate the vehicle herself.

The men then demanded that she take them to a nearby ATM. She withdrew $300 and gave it to them. But when she returned to the car, she made sure not to buckle the seatbelt.

While speaking about her experience, Jordan said:

I was thinking somehow I have to get out of this. Can I crash the car? No, because it might knock me out and not them. Can I pull over or something? I have to get away from them.

Then one of the robbers began to direct her towards a house belonging to his relative. Jordan knew that if she did not find a way to escape at that point, she would be in trouble. So she sped straight through an intersection, threw the car in neutral and jumped out at about 35 miles per hour.

A 17-year-old named Raquan Green and two 15-year-old boys were eventually arrested in connection to the incident and six other robberies in the area.

The police department hailed Jordan for her brave escape. The young lady said she was lucky that she was able to drive a stick shift and this was what ultimately saved her life.
