It can be easy to take the everyday things in life for granted. Many of us don’t give any thought to something as simple as grabbing a pair of shoes in the morning before work.
But what if you didn’t own shoes, or couldn’t afford any to begin with? Such was the case in the video below, when an interaction between a foreign tourist and a 14-year-old, barefoot boy led to a beautiful, heartwarming moment.
Ahyan Yerro, an assistant supervisor at a Nike store in a mall in Manila, the Philippines, captured the amazing scene on camera. She then posted the clip on her Facebook page.
According to Ahyan, a tattooed tourist encountered a barefoot teen outside the mall. The boy had been trying to sell flowers, and was asking for spare change.
Upon seeing the boy’s appearance, the tourist asked him to accompany him to the store, where he let him pick out a pair of shoes. The man apparently also bought the boy some food, then asked Ahyan where he could buy him new clothes as well.
According to Ahyan, the shy boy rejected the offer of shoes at first, but once he slipped his battered feet into them, he couldn’t keep the smile off his face.
Though the tourist requested to remain anonymous, he still thanked Ahyan for sharing the experience, as he hopes it will help make the world a better place.
