In middle school, Holly Burt towered over her classmates. By the time she was 12, she was already six feet tall.
Holly is the youngest and tallest member of her very tall family. During second grade, she was taller than her teacher. Bullies would taunt and tease her, and call her names like “tree” and “giraffe.”
When Barcroft TV caught up with Holly in 2015, she was a 20-year-old design student. The beautiful blonde was also hoping to trump the current record holder of the country’s longest legs, model Lauren Williams, by half an inch.
From hips to legs, Holly measures a whopping 49.5 inches. “I would definitely say I have the longest legs in America, and I could be the title owner,” she told Barcroft TV.
Being so tall hasn’t come without other types of downsides. For instance, she has a difficult time traveling in planes and cars. And don’t even get her started on shopping for clothes that actually fit.
But these days, Holly says all the looks, stares, and comments have only made her a stronger person — especially since moving to New York City. Watch the video below to see what I mean.
